Category Image Sunday's Hellfire and Brimstone: Paul Krugman

Paul Krugman's Sunday's op-ed piece is the near perfect example of how the left thinks, or doesn't as the case may be.

We in Hell aren't sure if Krugman is unable to read, too lazy to research, or thinks if he prints lies, no one will call him on it. Krugman starts crying that:

On Wednesday, President Bush vetoed legislation that would have expanded S-chip, the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, providing health insurance to an estimated 3.8 million children who would otherwise lack coverage.

As anyone with a computer can find out, SCHIP, was greatly expanded by the Democrats. Krugman doesn't mention that this legislation now covers children up to the age of 25. Krugman doesn't mention that this legislation covers a family of four making $80,000. Krugman doesn't mention that legal residents (not citizens) are now covered by this program.

Amazing how Krugman fails to mention how this bill transformed SCHIP from a program that helped poor children to a program that offers insurance to the middle class and legal residents and 25 year old children.

Then he mentions the phony soldiers/Rush Limbaugh lie. I guess Mr. Krugman either can't read or is lying. The transcript of the show is at Media Matters. How embarrassing it must be to be so wrong. How embarrassing it must be to be so isolated from reality that you'd print such a lie.

Oh, then Krugman complains that Bush took a tough stance against looting in New Orleans after Katrina. How unfeeling of a President that wants to protect the property of others. Krugman says people were starving. How can people be starving one day after the hurricane?

I'll leave you with this final quote from Krugman:

What’s happening, presumably, is that modern movement conservatism attracts a certain personality type. If you identify with the downtrodden, even a little, you don’t belong. If you think ridicule is an appropriate response to other peoples’ woes, you fit right in.
