Satan's Favorite Senator:  Voinovich Lets His Stupidity Show Again

We in Hell, at this point, hope George Voinovich continues to be George Voinovich.  It must be his special combination of arrogrance and ignorance that brings us an endless source of material.  

One would have hoped that after embarrassing nationally on the Hannity show and giving the finger of arrogance to the Republicans who voted for him, Voinovich would keep a low profile.  But after listening to him make a fool of himself, live on radio, We in Hell pretty much figured he wasn't smart enough to to that.  How hard is it to act like a Republican?  

It seems Senator Voinovich was the only member of the Senate to vote against a $3 billion dollar appropriations bill, that among other things, would speed construction of barriers on our vulnerable southern border. 

Voinovich claimed that he voted against this needed bill because it was a budget buster.  We in Hell might agree with George, if say this bill funded a "bridge to nowhere", but it is providing money to safeguard our southern border!  Apparently, our national security, national identity, and national sovereignty aren't even worth $3 billion to Senator Voinovich.  What a putz.

The vote today in the Senate to add $3 billion for proposed border safeguards to a homeland security spending bill was 89-1. The amendment's lone no vote: Ohio's GOP Sen. George V. Voinovich, a self-described "debt hawk."

Voinovich said in a speech on the Senate floor that he's all for securing the borders better, but that this measure represents reckless spending that would harm the nation over the long haul.

"If we decide we absolutely need to spend $3 billion on something – and I support adequately funding border security – then we need to either raise more revenue or cut other spending to pay for it," Voinovich said. "Simply adding it to the national debt makes our country less secure in the long run."
