Women, Children, Poor Hit Hardest by Global Warming
A humanitarian outfit has released a report where it claims the poor are hit hardest by global warming. The left is so predictable.
• The Oxfam report, called Climate Alarm, says natural disasters have risen from 120 annually in the 1980s to as many as 500 today.
Really? I doubt it. Might it be that more people are living in vulnerable areas than in decades past?
• It says the tendency of rich countries is to prioritize their aid spending on more high-profile emergencies. They also focus on countries that are seen as being in line with their foreign policy priorities, the report says.
I knew the West would somehow be at fault.
• Magrath says the people who are least responsible for climate change are the ones most adversely affected by it.
Really, so poor people aren't destroying the rain forest? Poor people aren't deforesting most of China? Poor people haven't helped the process of desertification in sub-Saharan Africa? Amazing how they failed to mention these little problems.
